Ilja Krasnjanski is an independent security researcher publishing as KrasForge. His work on UNK_DeadDrop examines recruitment lures aimed at developers, malware collection routines and the infrastructure supporting them.
This investigation began with three phishing messages he received in June and July 2026. He traced the associated artifacts through static analysis, repository history and configuration records, and developed the companion YARA rules and unk-scanner to help other analysts inspect related files. The series and its papers document the methods, findings and gaps in the available evidence.
